An absolutely charming 2 x 4 inch pocket New Testament, not recorded in Darlow and Moule. Really lovely little gem.

The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Newly translated out of the Originall Greeke: and with the former Translations diligently compared and revised, by his Majesties speciall commandment. Imprinted at London by Robert Barker, Printer to the Kings most excellent Majestie; and by the Assignes of John Bill. 1632. Cum Privilegio. 

Measuring a diminutive 2 x 4 inches, it retains its original full calf binding with paneled boards, four raised bands, and original silver hasps and clasps. These appear to be unmarked. The binding is in a good state, very slightly cocked, rubbed at extremities, through at corners, and one pin of the twelve holding the hasps and clasps absent. That's excellent. All in good working order.

The interior bears the early plate of George Bradford of Wallingford, Berkshire with the Latin "Spes Mea in Deo," or, "My hope is in God." Early marbled papers intact, as well as the title which is closely cropped at the foredge. Charming little woodcut initials introduce each new book of the New Testament, neatly typset in single columns. A beautiful production.
