This spectacular 1970's dove blue and silver lurex brocade evening gown and matching jacket set, rendered in a trailing floral pattern, is the perfect ensemble for that special occasion.  

The deep V shaped neckline of the dress, sets off the sleeveless cut and halter neckline.The elegant bust-line, sets off the fitted waist panel, from which gathered pleats radiate along the base of each side of the bust. The cinched in waistline, sets off the A line panelled cut of the skirt. The back of the dress features a central zip fastening, which is framed by the cross over design of the bodice,  joining the backline in delicate over-layers. 

The matching jacket, sits perfectly above the dress with a V shaped neckline framed by a pointed notched collar, lined in rayon along the top tier. The simple shoulder line boasts gathered pleats along the yoke seams, which radiate in soft pleats along the top of the bodice. The full length inset sleeves are finished with wide fitted cuffs, which draw the width of the sleeves in in pleats. The wide box cut of the jacket, draws in centrally with a single concealed press stud fastening, completing this ensemble in an iconic 1970's silhouette. The jacket is sheer and only lined alone the back of the collar.

Condition: This dress and jacket set is in near perfect condition. The rayon lining of the dress has some areas of colour variation where it appears slightly more pink in some areas beneath the nylon chiffon.I feel this adds to the dress as the pink undertones set off the silver lurex. The matching jacket has a few very small pin sized age marks along the right hand side sleeve, this are well concealed within the pleated gathers. Some of the threads along the seams of the jacket have yellowed with age.  These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and are well concealed within the drape of the dress. Fastenings: This dress fastens with a two hook and loops along the nape and a 21 inch plastic zip. The jacket fastens with a single concealed press stud

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned 

Fabric: The dress is lined in rayon with a nylon chiffon and lurex brocade overlay. The jacket is lined in rayon along the back go the collar and is comprised of nylon chiffon and lurex brocade.
