Vintage Persian Runner Rug

Vintage handwoven wool runner rug. Features a variegated terracotta field with a central repeating pattern in chocolate brown. The variegations in this rug are called “abrash.” They are discrepancies in color, particularly found in antique rugs. It is evidence that the rug was dyed with vegetable dyes because it is so difficult to create two identical shades of the same color. In good vintage condition. Shows some mends, displayed in photos.
