A wonderful, chunky pair of 4to volumes containing all four volumes of D'Aubigne's classic bound in two attractive half leather bindings. A very early edition with high quality engravings by and after Lucas Cranach, Gustav Konig, etc.

Very attractive polished black calf half leather with handsewn head and footbands, raised bands on spine, and marbled boards. Bindings themselves are very solid with the exception of a slight separation at title of volume 1. Some light rubbing to corners, but on the whole a rather uniquely finely preserved set.
