Technologies

PowerLock
SRAM engineers developed PowerLock® as a secure and easy way to connect the two ends of the chain. PowerLock® does not require special tools for installation, but the particularly tight tolerances of 10, 11, and 12-speed drivetrains require each PowerLock® to be used for a single application only.

Flattop
To bring X-Range™ technology to life, SRAM had to develop a narrower chain. The unique Flattop™ link shape not only allowed for a wider gear range but also made the drivetrain quieter and increased the chain's strength and durability.
