The updated GRIP2 damper is the benchmark for unmatched ride quality and ultra-precise on-the-fly adjustment. For 2021, FOX took the GRIP2 to the next level by adding patented VVC technology to the high-speed compression circuit. VVC is a proprietary variable valve control system that allows fine external tuning of suspension performance. GRIP2 achieves with a simple knob turn what would normally require the long and complicated task of fully disassembling and reassembling the fork. It allows adjustment of high/low speed compression and rebound damping.

The lightweight FLOAT pneumatic suspension system automatically balances the positive and negative air chambers for greater sensitivity and traction regardless of air pressure settings. Riders can fine-tune the positive air spring characteristics using volume spacers. Using a shorter stance tube saves weight and creates an overall lightweight system.

Floating axles may look like regular axles, but they actually offer a clear performance advantage. Floating axles provide much smoother suspension movement throughout the fork travel, significantly improving sensitivity and overall ride quality. Additionally, they create perfect suspension alignment and eliminate unwanted friction between the upper and lower fork legs.

When a fork is compressed, the air volume in the stanchion tubes decreases. The more the fork is compressed, the more the pressure increases. This effect can have the unintended consequence of preventing full travel. Channels in the stanchion tubes help reduce the amount of additional pressure increase. Additionally, bleeds allow easy pressure equalization by pressing a button.

Stiffness-to-weight ratio is the ultimate metric for bike design. Engineers invest countless hours optimizing this ratio. The brand-new lower leg design stops, saving every possible gram without compromising stiffness or the strength requirements of modern enduro and gravity riding.

Modern frames and geometry trends require modern design solutions for suspension forks. The triple clamp is designed to fit perfectly on modern enduro and downhill bikes. State-of-the-art computer techniques helped FOX develop an organic shape of the lower leg that optimizes stiffness with an absolute minimum of material. The elliptical steerer tube is another way FOX further optimized stiffness relative to weight. Material placed only where needed and every unnecessary gram eliminated.

Due to the powerful motors of modern e-mountain bikes, higher forces act on both the drivetrain and the entire wheel.
