Rendered in the most sumptuous shade of coral pink rayon paired with black crepe silk and embellished with black sequins and black bugle beads,  this original 1940's gown is just the piece to add to your seasonal collection. 

The V shaped neckline draws the eye to the elegant rounded seam beneath the bust-line, from which pleats radiate from gathered smocking stitches along the bust. The simple shoulder line, sets off the three quarter length sleeves, which framed the elegant fitted waistline. The bodice is finished with an undulating edged peplum cut, which is in turn embellished with a floral pattern of black sequins and black glass bugle beads. The contrasting black crepe silk skirt line, which begins beneath the peplum cut, completes this gown in an effortless straight line cut, finished with a front central vent.

Size: UK 10 US 6 

Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. There is a small darn along the centre point of the coral pink plum area, this is well concealed by the sequin embellishments. A very light and small age mark just above the central point of the peplum seam below the waistline. An internal mark along the central back of the bodice, this is slightly visible externally and appears as a light coloured square. A small age mark along the scalloped edged of the central peplum design. A very small pin hole along the left hand side of the peplum near the side seam. Two small sympathetic darns along the bottom right hand side of the crepe skirt. These minor imperfections are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon closer inspection.Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report. 

Fastenings: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 10.5 inch metal zip and along the side seam of the peplum with three press studs.
