This is a spectacularly beautiful acrostic ring with big, bright gems spelling out a secret message.   Featuring a rose cut diamond, and a cabochon amethyst, ruby, opal and emerald, the first letter of each of these gemstones spell out the word ‘ADORE’. 

Set in 18ct gold, these bright gems are lively and in excellent condition.  The band is currently a UK size O (US size 7 1/4)  but it could be re-sized. It weighs a very healthy 3.54g.   The 18ct gold band which measures a wide 6mm is hallmarked for 18ct Gold and i would date it to the 1960s.
 
'Acrostic' rings have always been extremely popular and in Victorian times, were used to express a secret romantic message to their loved one spelt out in gemstones.  This one let the wearer know that they were 'adored'.

This classic, and omantic acrostic design ring remains in excellent condition.
