Players take on the role of "Finders" and try to correctly place "Thing" cards in a Venn diagram. Each ring of the Venn diagram has special rules. The twist? Only one player, playing as "The Knower," knows the secret rules.
The rules fall into three different categories:
Word : relates to the spelling or structure of the word. Property : deals with the physical properties of the object. Context : revolves around the role or position of the object in society.
An example of rules might be: 'begins with a vowel', 'edible' and 'found at a school'. The Thing card 'Apple' satisfies all three rules and is placed in the middle of the Venn diagram. In contrast, 'Train' satisfies none of the rules and is outside the diagram.
Each time an object is placed or moved to the correct spot, players are given more information about what the rules might be. If a player places a card correctly, they may immediately place a new card. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins.
Strategy Tip: The goal is to get rid of your cards, not to figure out the rules. But the best way to get rid of your cards is to figure out the rules!
