One of the most extensive and extended dialogues we have seen preserved on the relationship of the Church to the issue of slavery on the run up to the war; though the periodical was largely abolitionist, editorials are published by those opposing, there is an open letter to the "Negroes of Ohio" by the Colonization Society, etc.
