Race Face constructs the Aeffects out of hardworking 6061 aluminum to achieve an ideal balance of weight, strength, and a wallet-friendly price. Weighing in at a claimed 1,900g, the Aeffects aren't as dainty as some of their carbon counterparts, but they certainly deserve their description as a lightweight wheelset that's ideal for cross-country and trail rides on smooth, fast singletrack. Responsiveness goes hand-in-hand with speed, and Race Face ensures the Aeffects achieve snappy, efficient handling by building them with 28 cross-laced, straight-pull bladed spokes. The rims come laced to hubs with Race Face's custom cartridge bearings and three pawl design for 21 points of engagement and quick responsiveness across technical terrain. Out of the box, the front axle has a standard 15 x 100mm hub shell width, while the rear uses a 12 x 142mm; however, Race Face includes optional end caps for adapting the front to a 9 x 100mm and the rear to 10 x 135mm if you'd prefer.
