ALLEVYN™ Tracheostomy

ALLEVYN™ Tracheostomy by Smith & Nephew is a non-adhesive, hydrocellular wound dressing with a keyhole opening that can be neatly placed around a tracheostomy tube or other drain. The dressing also absorbs large amounts of secretion. This prevents maceration and helps to maintain the condition of the skin in the peristomal area. The keyhole opening makes applying the dressing very easy and uncomplicated and it can even be cut to size if required.

Removing the dressing is also simple and painless and causes minimal discomfort to the patient. Another advantage of ALLEVYN™ Tracheostomy is the breathable OPSITE film that forms the outer surface of the tracheostomy dressing. This prevents secretions from escaping, is easy to clean and acts as a barrier against liquids. Due to the high absorbency, fewer dressing changes are needed, which saves time and costs for the patient.
