A classic and genuine coral cameo brooch from the Victorian era. This lovely cameo features a beautiful lady in profile with curls. The carving on this cameo is very detailed and is higher quality than the average. It was hand carved from a single piece of reddish orange Italian coral and is truly a magnificent sculpture done by a gifted carver. The brooch is in high relief and has still has an amazing polish and shine. It is in a simple rolled gold frame that is unmarked. It has a C-catch clasp with a tube hinge and and extended pinstem. When you look at the back of the coral you can see a small pit in the center and a little groove. These are natural features of the coral and not a crack.
