Antique sterling silver repousse vesta box.  This lovely heart shaped pendant box or chatelaine pendant has intricate scrolling repousse designs. This type of box is also called a match safe and is engraveable. They were carried predominantly on a chatelaine or 'double Albert' chain. The case has a hinged lid that opens so you store something special inside. It snaps shut and stays shut tightly. It has a bail on top, so you can easily slip it on a chain or necklace. It has a dark oxidized patina obtained over many years.
