A really fascinating Scottish Christian philosophical work that is quite rare on the market; no original copies. Burns was Regius Professor at the University of Glasgow and argued that Christian ethics as looked at through a philosophical lens is what leads to the flourishing, millennial society. Really interesting work . . . seemingly Scottish Presbyterian and amillennial.
Burns, John. The Principles of Christian Philosophy, Containing the Doctrines, Duties, Admonitions, and Consolations of the Christian Religion. First American Edition. Philadelphia. Carey, Lea, and Blanchard. 1833. 372pp.
Good solid copy of a rare text/ quarter cloth over paper boards. Edges unevenly trimmed as issued. Very crisp and solid.
