Rodkicker Type 20L is recommended for masthead rigged yachts with a displacement of max 11 tonnes and fractional rigged yachts up to 9 tonnes.

076-046-13 does not include a gas spring so the main purpose with this rigid vang is to facilitate sail handling when reefing, preventing the boom from dropping into the cockpit or onto the coach roof. It also doubles the purchase of your kicking strap. Kicking strap is not included.

It can easily be upgraded with a gas spring if required. When fitted with a Seldén gas spring, it lifts the boom when the kicking strap is released. Excellent for trimming the main in light air. 

The right size of Rodkicker, and correct spring force, is determined by the displacement of the boat, the righting moment at 30° heel angle, the boom height above deck, the length of the boom (E-measurement) and whether the mast is of conventional type or a furling mast.
