Description:

Baijiguan tea, one of the traditional four famous varieties of Wuyi rock tea, is produced from tea trees growing below the Flame Peak of Huiyuan Rock and behind the Public Shrine Mountain in Wuyi Mountain. Its buds and leaves are unique, with a pale green color, a white hue amidst the green, and curly buds with visible hairs. The appearance of Baijiguan resembles the crest on the head of a white silkie chicken, hence its name. Harvesting of the new tea typically begins in late May each year, with two or three leaves being the main target. The leaves have a green-red color, and the tea has a lasting sweetness.

After brewing, Baijiguan tea yields a bright orange-yellow liquor, leaving a lingering fragrance on the palate, refreshing the senses. Its dry leaves exhibit a milky yellow color with tightly rolled strips, some being yellow-green, some sandy green, with visible red spots. When tasted, it boasts a high fragrance and an extremely long aftertaste, with a unique sweet and cooling sensation, fresh, sweet, and smooth, leaving a lingering aroma on the lips and teeth.

However, Baijiguan has a relatively low yield due to its low survival rate when planted and its difficulty to counterfeit, making it more precious. Despite this, Baijiguan still holds an important position in the tea world due to its distinct characteristics and unique flavor, being one of the high-quality teas pursued by tea enthusiasts.
