An excellent Hardy Perfect Fly Reel, 3 5/8", built for RHW. Duplicated Mark II check. This reel has a lineguard that is nickel-plated over a steel bezel, as it was impossible to get german-made agate guide material just after WWII. This RHW reel has a full length ribbed brass foot and the leaded finish, much of which has worn into that aged patina that many like. The owners name, "W.P Baker" is professionally engraved on the winding plate. This reel has a very strong check and yet with the ball bearings it is a very smooth running reel. It comes with the original Hardy cardboard box with the label that confirms that it has the seldom seen "steel" lineguard.
