BUFFALO BILL. c.1900-1905 Original Unpublished Photograph of William F. Cody, aka Buffalo Bill.

A very fine c.1900-1905 photograph, apparently undocumented, of William F. Cody in his full Buffalo Bill attire, probably during one of his many “Farewell” tours during the period. The personal collection of one of Cody’s crew, Charles Hayden, has preserved images of Cody looking a very similar age and fashion to the image offered here. His material dates from the 1901 season.

The image itself, measuring 2.5 x 4 inches, is finely preserved, but with staining and image loss to the blank field to the upper left quarter of the image as shown. Labeled on the rear, “William F. Cody. Otherwise known as Buffalo Bill.”
