Overview

The Octopus DQ (OCTOPUSDQ) is a ceiling‑mount, wired digital quad PIR motion detector offering full 360° volumetric coverage for commercial and residential intruder alarm systems. It features Pyronix Blue Wave digital signal processing with temperature compensation and Independent Floating Threshold (IFT) technology to reduce false alarms and improve immunity to interference.

• 360° volumetric detection — 156 detection zones across 3 planes; effective coverage diameter up to 12 m (optimum at 4 m mounting height).
• Quad‑interlocking pyroelectric sensor with selectable pulse count (1/2/3) for flexible sensitivity profiles.
• Blue Wave signal processing — digital temperature compensation and IFT to reduce nuisance alarms from electrical/environmental disturbances.
• Installer friendly — single‑screw ceiling mounting, clip‑in PCB, selectable EOL resistors and walk‑test LED for fast commissioning.
• Tamper protection — front and rear tamper, solid‑state outputs.

Typical use cases

• Overhead volumetric protection of retail spaces, storerooms, corridors and common areas.

Electrical & installation notes

• Power: 9–16 V DC (nominal 12 V DC). Quiescent current ≈ 15 mA; alarm current ≈ 25 mA (at 12 V DC).
• Outputs: solid state, rated up to 60 V DC, 50 mA max. Selectable EOL resistor values supported for panel wiring.
• Recommended mounting height: 2.4–4.0 m (maximum 4.0 m). Detection speed range 0.3–3.0 m/s.
