A really beautifully preserved first edition of The English Hexapla, containing the most influential translations of the Reformation and Post-Reformation era in parallel, including the translations of Reformers John Wiclif, William Tyndale, and Thomas Cranmer, the Genevan Translation, the Roman Catholic Anglo-Rhemish Translation, and the Authorised, or King James Version of 1611. 

A beautiful and costly production. This the first edition with an extensive history of English translations of the Scriptures. This was much amended in later editions.

Very imposing large 4to [11.75 inches], near folio in elaborate blind tooled morocco, raised bands, gold foredges, and gilt dentils. Very solid binding and textually very crisp and clean. Some light rubbing, easily polished with a black book polish and spruced up [which we can do if you like]. Small nick out of leather at base of spine. Weighing in at nearly 10 pounds.
