Offered here is a striking MGM Studio Photograph of a young Frank Sinatra in 1944, captured at the dawn of his meteoric rise as America’s most mesmerizing new vocalist and screen presence. Measuring 8" x 1, this Type 1 Original Photo reflects the smooth, magnetic charm that defined Sinatra’s early Hollywood year - an image carefully crafted by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as they positioned him as one of the era’s most bankable stars.

This very photograph would go on to be used for two notable international film-star card issues: the 1947 Turf Cigarettes Film Stars #16 and the 1947 Kwatta Film Stars #276. Its selection for these sets speaks to the strength and appeal of the portrait, as well as Sinatra’s growing stature on the world stage.
