These 74mm crankshafts have a little longer stroke than the stock 69mm VW crank.  They are built specifically to fit in a stock engine case without having to machine the case for the larger stroke.  This provides a noticeable power increase.   A forged 4140 chromly counterwieghted crank is far superior to a cast one.  It's stronger, will not break,and  can be machined for your next build, if needed.  Ours are balanced, micro-polished, and nitrided for superior longevity and performance. Uses stock main and rod bearings.  To install a 74mm crank into a stock case with no clearancing, we recommend using stroker clearanced connecting rods, such as our forged I-beams or H-Beams.
