An excessively rare Great Awakening era radical Baptist work that is anything but conciliatory to other Independents and Dissenters. No other copies on the market, nor have we ever handled another. We note only 3 or 4 copies held institutionally, including the British Library. 

Thomas Campbell was a Baptist minister of some prominence at Hull [at least 1740-1752]. The present was his only published work. Bibliographic reference shows an issue of the present work in New York the same year, though we trace no example of it. 

Also bears the autograph of baptist divine, William Soulden from 1765. He was the pastor at Killingholme [1748-1768]. The flock there seems to have continued its decline during his ministers until in 1767, the church recommended him to prominent Baptist, Samuel Stennett, as ready for retirement. It is believed Stennett commended him to the Regium Donum [for the support of poor clergy].

There is a further inscription by his daughter, Elisabeth Soulden of Coningsby. And a further 1766 inscription of Thomas Gartwright.

Original full calf binding, very solid with some minor losses at extremities. Would be very smart with a little consolidation and polish. Textually quite good. Lacking blank rfep.
