Red Country RisingReturning to Birdsville from Bedourie in south west Queensland, Australia at sunset on the night of the full moon, we came upon this other worldly scene. As the last light of the setting sun lit the red gibber country of the northern Sturt Stony Desert, the full moon rose through the alpenglow over Mt Lewis (96m). Surely this was a sight that would stop anyone, but there was no one else around, this was our very private "Red Country Rising".
