A rather scarce little biography of Quaker preacher, mystic, and prophetess, Priscilla Cadwallader [1786-1859]. As early as 1831, she reported having had a vision showing that the Union would be engaged before long in a bloody civil war because of God's displeasure with regard to growing materialism, wantonness, and specifically, as a result of the oppressive of chattel slavery.
Cadwallader, Priscilla. Memoir of Priscilla Cadwallader. Second Edition. Philadelphia. T. Ellwood Zell & Co. 1864. 142pp.
A good + copy, bound in cloth, very solid, with light foxing, and a very faint stain to the prelims.
