A wonderful and rather rare work on the 250 year anniversary of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of New York, authored by one of the primary historians and participants in the Fulton Street Prayer Meetings, T. W. Chambers.
The work is deeply influenced by Chambers revivalist tradition, discussing the revivalist work of people like Theodore Frelinghuysen during the Great Awakening and giving a significant amount of attention to the Fulton Street Prayer Revival of 1857 and 1858.
Further, it has been gifted to his friend, Dr. Alvah Hovey, and inscribed to him and signed in his own hand. A wonderful 1857 prayer revival related artifact with some excellent historical content.
Chambers. T. W. et al. The Celebration of the Quarter-Millennial Anniversary of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of the City of New York. November 21st, 1878. 104pp.
