For sale here is a wartime-era Hardy Perfect 2 7/8" trout fly reel with unblemished agate line guide, full-length smooth brass foot, faded ebonite handle (brown now) and rim tensioner. Single pawl Dup MKII check. Spool rocks just a little, otherwise a very nice reel mechanically. The reel weighs 5 3/4 oz. It includes Jimmy Smith's initials on the back of the winding plate. It's possible this reel started out its life as a black painted wartime reel, or an original "in-the-white" reel. It's hard to be certain. A stunning reel visually and a great size Perfect for the trout fisherman!
