At the height of his influence, Charles Spurgeon licensed his name and image to an incredible variety of makers of ephemeral goods; photographers, publishers, tobacconists, and makers of fine goods. 

T. Stevens of Coventry was one of the finest makers of woven silk goods in the UK at the time, producing silk panels for wealthy homes and fine bookmarks like this one. They are not printed, but finely woven images.

Stevens was apparently deeply interested in the Evangelical cause. He produced panels or bookmarks of C. H. Spurgeon, John Bunyan, John Knox, memorializing the Great Ejection of 1662, etc. 

There are several variants of the Spurgeon "stevengraph" silk bookmark. This is one retains its original thread fob, which has often long gone missing. 

This example in fine condition with one small horizontal breach in the cloud above the crown and a small stain lower right in the decorative bottom border. Please note that nature of silk over time makes these rather unsuitable for use without extreme care. Unusually fine condition.
