A wonderful group of four connected letters related to the miraculous healing of a Mr. Cocks through the ministry of John Maillard and the House of Prayer in London.

John Maillard was an continuationist Anglican who believed that divine healing was an ongoing sacrament of the Church. He ran the House of Prayer and the London Healing Mission where people could come to convalesce and have hands laid on them for healing. In addition, he traveled and had healing services throughout England. 

He is author of Healing in the Name of Jesus, Love's Healing Mystery, and The Sacrament of Healing.

The present letters are dated to May, June, July, and September of the same year. The first three are handwritten, the final a TLS.

In the first letter, he responds likely to her initial inquiry. Her husband has apparently been seen by four doctors in an attempt to address his medical condition. "However, we will bring these things to God in prayer. Our hearts look to Him each day to receive His blessings in ever need." The second letter, he encourages her faith, "Each act of faith and prayer strengthens our fellowship in the Communion of God's love. . ." In the third letter, her husband is evidently improving, thus, "This is indeed a happy report. Truly 'the Everlasting arms are underneath and around.'"

The final letter is great, "I was delighted to receive your letter of thanksgiving for the wonderful healing which has come to your dear husband. In all the years of this Mission it has been our faith that the age of miracles is not past, and the healing of your husband is another glorious witness to the truth of all the ages that Christ is, "the same yesterday, today, and for ever."
