A fascinating and very scarce work. The divine healing movement in many areas was an overlap of faith in the miraculous and an attention to the means of grace at rest and healing homes. This was the the case where Andrew Murray was healed, and the "healing homes" across America were similar. Miracles were commonplace, but so were healings through care, rest, and holistic approaches to healing.
These "chapel talks" by Henry Foster are of that school. Published by divine healing advocate Charles Cullis' Willard Tract Society. Scarce with no copies on the market at the time of cataloging.
This copy inscribed by Doctor Foster, presumably to a guest at the Sanitarium.
Foster, Henry. Chapel Talks by Henry Foster, M. D. Given at the Sanitarium, Clifton Springs, N. Y. Boston. Willard Tract Repository. 1887. 71pp.
A very good copy, bound in cloth, generally solid, though prelims are a bit tender, with bright and clean pages.
