FEATURES:

ELECTRIC 

The Grainfather is electrically powered and designed to be used indoors. No need for burners, or hot plates, just plug in and go! It is fitted with a PID-controlled heating element, which ensures the correct power is used during different stages of the brewing process, and voltage control during the distilling process. A gentler heat is used during certain stages for accurate temperature control and to minimize the risk of scorching.

CONTROL BOX FOR HEAT & POWER CONTROL

The control box has a Bluetooth connection and so your mobile device can be used to control your unit remotely during mashing and brewing. This allows you to multitask or simply relax while brewing. The app will notify you when you reach the next stage of your brewing process.

PUMP 

For maximum brewing efficiencies, a 6 Watt, 1,800 RPM magnetic powered pump has been fitted to recirculate the wort through the grain bed. This pump is also used during the cooling stage to push hot wort through the wort chiller. Additionally, the pump makes the cleaning process quick and easy as cleaning detergent can flow through the pipework. The magnetic drive pump has gone through rigorous testing against multiple pump styles to ensure it meets the tough demands of continuous brewing. The pump is concealed by a stainless cover, which easily pops open to give you direct access. A pump filter is fitted inside the Grainfather to prevent hops and stray grain from entering the pump or pipework, keeping the wort clear while also preventing any blockages. 

GRAIN BASKET

The stainless steel adjustable grain basket allows you to brew from 10 - 19lbs (4.5 to 9 kg) of grain. The fitted perforated plates and telescopic pipework, make it easy to adjust the size of the grain basket to suit the size of the grain bill. When ready for sparging, a basket handle is inserted into the grain basket to lift it up and out of the wort. Once lifted, a 45-degree turn allows the grain basket’s feet to rest on the specially designed support. The grain basket is then able to drain while you sparge (rinse) your grains.

COUNTERFLOW WORT CHILLER 

Using the built-in pump, the hot wash is moved through a copper inner coil while the cold water is pumped through the outer tube in the opposite direction. This provides an instant exchange of cooling and heating, and the cooled wash can then be pumped directly into your clean, sterile fermenter. This delivers a highly sanitary transfer as nothing is inserted in the wash and it is only passing through the wort chiller once. 6 gallons (23L) of wash can be cooled in as little as 20 minutes. The cooled wash temperature will be approximately 8-10F (5C) above your tap water temperature.

The Distill Copper Dome Top & Condenser:

With the copper dome and condenser, the Grainfather becomes a microdistillery! Distill any spirit you'd like to maintain some flavor from (particularly for aging)  with this pot still attachment.  A distilling lid and T500 reflux condenser can be used for completely neutral spirits and vodkas.

All whiskeys are made from grain and require mashing of grain, which you are able to do with the Grainfather G30. After mashing and cooling the wort with the Grainfather G30 and included counterflow chiller, you'll ferment the wash.  Once fermentation is completed, you simply transfer the wash back to the Grainfather, attach the dome and condenser, and you will be distilling beautiful, full-flavored whiskies.

Copper Dome Top: The large copper surface area of the dome acts as a catalyst with the vapor in the Grainfather G30 and helps enhance and concentrate the flavors and aromas as well as remove unwanted sulfur compounds. This produces a smoother, richer, sweeter-tasting spirit.

Alembic Copper Condenser: This condenser efficiently cools the vapor from the dome via a water-cooled outer sleeve. This comes with a thermometer, tubing, and tap adaptor set.
