Spurgeon, C. H. The Treasury of David: Containing an Original Exposition of the Book of Psalms; A Collection of Illustrative Extracts from the Whole Range of Literature; A Series of Homiletical Hints Upon Almost Every Verse; And Lists of Writers Upon each Psalm. Vol IV. Psalm LXXIX. to CIII. London. Passmore and Alabaster. 1877. 476pp.
Very sturdy volume rebound perhaps in the mid-20th century in a sort of kyvar, faux leather. Not fancy, but servicable and rather handsome.
Boldly inscribed in the typical purple ink on the blank ffep by Mrs. Spurgeon to William Yates. Perhaps the son of the famed Baptist missionary who worked alongside William Carey, etc.? These were usually gifted to ministers, but I am uncertain who our "Mr. Yates" was.
"Mr. William Yates from Mrs. C. H. Spurgeon. May the Treasury prove a 'treasure' indeed." Mar 7, 1878."
