A superb example of one of the most attractive typeset 8vo Bibles of the 17th century; beautifully bordered general title and NT title accompanied by a very scarce Cromwellian issue of the Scottish Psalter in Metre with no other examples traced.

Christopher Higgins was the Cromwellian printer in Scotland responsible for printing pro-Covenanter material etc.

Original full calf with raised bands, elaborately tooled compartments, very minor nicking at head of spine, boards with ruled panels. Metal silver pieces and single has and clasp probably eighteenth century replacing the original two hasp and clasps. Text all remarkably good and crisp.
