The two elements are separate but the presence of what looks to be a fixture in the middle of the base and mirrored hole to the lion indicates that they were likely affixed originally. The alabaster lion sits atop an associated grey marble base. The two elements are separate but the presence of what looks to be a fixture in the middle of the base and mirrored hole to the lion indicates that they were likely affixed originally.
There is some age tone to the lion and light wear/nibbles commensurate with age to the base, including a small hairline to the body (please see photographs) but generally the piece displays well.
