Beautiful and rather scarce edition of the sermons of John Chrysostom [347-407] on Paul's Epistles to the Galatians and Ephesians. Chrysostom was an important Church father and Archbishop of Constantinople. He is remembered as an early Church reformer and revivalist, a brilliant orator, and person of deep personal piety.

Original very handsome velum with contrasting leather and gold tooling on spine, hand-marbled boards, endpapers, and foredges. Textually very good, solid and crisp with some very minor foxing to prelims and rears.
