Rare first edition of Bonar's expansion of Gillies on historical revivals; perhaps the most influential history of revivals ever published and rather scarce in the first edition. Not pristine, but well worth preservation, and attractively rebound would have pride of place in a revival collection.

Textually very solid and clean. Original brown cloth chipped and consolidated. A bit tight at hinges from consolidation of binding. Period ex library stamps from the United Original Secession Synod Theological Hall [which we find are rather attractive]. Small modern blind stamp on lower corner of title. Good overall. Textually good + to very good.
