This unusual streamer fly, tied by renowned author and devoted fly fisherman, Ernest Schwiebert (1931-2005), measures 3" overall and features unusual hand painted 'eyes' on either side. With light use, most likely a single occasion, still in excellent condition. Schwiebert is well remembered in fly tying circles for his notable contributions in the field of insect comparability. The exceptional detail seen in the concise illustrations the gifted artist included in his titles is very apparent in this hand tied fly. Schwiebert used his flies personally, gifting few during his lifetime, making each of his examples a rare treasure for the fly collector.
