On July 8, 1774, the perfume company under the name of La Reine des Fleurs (the Queen of Flowers) was founded by Michel Adam, a well-known perfumer from Versailles. His cousin Pierre-Guilaume made the venture a success. Even King Louis XVI enveloped himself in the scents of La Reine des Fleurs. It was Louis Toussaint who first used chemical ingredients in 1809. After Dissey's death, the company passed into Piver's hands and the name was changed to L.T. Piver Perfumes. Famous clients knew L.T. Piver, including Napoleon Bonaparte and later Sarah Bernard.

In 1901 none other than Jean Guerlain created the perfume Fleur qui Meurt for Piver. It goes too far to explore such a romantic background in this context.
