For sale here is a Walter Brunner "Type Traun" bamboo rod (this model is increasingly difficult to find). 2.28 meters in length (7'6"), 2/1 for a 6 weight line. Made in 1970. Excellent plus condition having been fished sparingly. All sections are full length and straight. Black silk wraps, staggered ferrule design, witness marks, fast parabolic action (not as fast as the Gebetsroither model), black anodized sliding band and cap. The rod comes with a 15" bamboo ferrule plug (much like Pezon et Michel rods) to accommodate the staggered design while in the rod bag.The rod weighs 3.95 oz. Walter Brunner's rods are much sought after and extremely hard to find on the resale market. The rod comes with a replacement bag, and original black labeled tube with leather appointments on both ends.

Hans Gebetsroither was the head keeper on the famous river Traun in Austria and was famous for his casting abilities and style. The Traun is a big river, and a powerful rod (and caster!) was needed to reach the far lies and handle the big fish found there.
