We were delighted to see this exceptionally rare work show up on the market; I believe we've seen it come to sale perhaps one other time in 25 years. It is a cornerstone work for any Pentecostal collection as it records the first modern iteration of Pentecostal manifestations and, in many ways, provides the framework for what would follow in the ministry of Edward Irving, the Catholic Apostolic Church, the Azusa Street Revival, etc.,
It was Irving and his deacons, who were later "Angels" in the Catholic Apostolic Church, who traveled to Scotland to see what was happening, including speaking in unknown tongues, prophecy, and divine healing.
Norton, Robert. Memoirs of James & George Macdonald of Port-Glasgow, Scotland. London. John F. Shaw. 1840. 255pp.
Original decorative cloth in fair condition with chipping and wear, some toning to text, though very clear. Some church ex library marks.
