It is perhaps not accidental that his commentary was published in the heat of the Civil War, just after the Emancipation Proclamation, and that it was known as supporting anti-slavery, radical abolitionist positions in its translation choices and textual comment.

A very good copy, bound in leather, very solid with some rubbing at extremities. Pages are bright and clean with some light foxing.  A very nice set.
