John Scudder, from an important New England family deeply invested in missions, was one of the most prominent advocates both for the recruitment of new missionaries and in the raising of financial support for the cause. They served on the foreign field for four consecutive generations, beginning with John Scudder Sr [1793-1855], author of the present.
An excellent, earnest work on the Great Commission.
Scudder, John. The Redeemer's Last Command. New York. American Tract Society. Nd. c.1850. 112pp.
Attractive period blind-stamped cloth with gold spine titling; minor chips and some light foxing. But a rather nicely preserved example.
