One of the most substantive early works defending young earth on geological, archaeological, and biological grounds, contra Charles Darwin. 

The work explores the antiquity of the human race using evidence derived from physical skeletons, tools, investigations of megalithic monuments, lake dwellings, bone caves, association with mammoth remains, etc. Thirty-seven chapters discuss the glacial age, stone, bronze and iron ages, Herculaneum, Troy, and much more. All this evidence leads the author to conclude, contra Darwin, that primeval man originates somewhere between six and eight thousand years ago. Theologically, the doctrines of Christianity and biblical revelations are favorably contrasted with the fickleness and ever-changing nature of the sciences.
