Handwoven vintage Persian rug

Handwoven wool low pile Persian rug. Measures 8’x4’1”. Features three central medallions with floral, evil eye and figural bird motifs. This rug has a terracotta field with pops of creams and muted sages. The rug is in good vintage condition.

In Persian rugs, especially those woven by tribal and nomadic groups like the Qashqai, Bakhtiari, and Baluchi, the evil eye motif serves a protective function. It is believed to shield the owner and the household from misfortune. These motifs are sometimes integrated subtly within the rug's overall design, hidden among geometric patterns or floral arrangements.
