Fire Beneath the Surface was created around a striking red marcasite stone filled with deep earthy reds, smoky grays, soft creams, and hints of shadowy movement that feel almost volcanic in nature. The stone looks as though heat and earth collided long ago and slowly settled into something steady and strong.

Rather than overpower the stone, Christine chose to let it remain the heart of the design. Set in handcrafted silver with layered textures surrounding the cabochon, the metalwork adds depth and movement while still allowing the natural beauty of the stone to speak for itself. The textured silver almost feels like weathered earth or ancient rock formations shaped over time.

This is one of those pieces that feels grounding the moment you hold it. The rich red tones are often associated with strength, stability, courage, and reconnecting to the body and the earth. Paired with silver — a metal long admired for its conductive and energetic qualities — this pendant carries both warmth and quiet intensity.
