Handwoven vintage Turkish rug

Handwoven wool low pile Turkish Antalya rug. Measures 5’x7’3”. Features a mosaic kheshti pattern with of tree of life, floral, boteh and bird motifs. This rug has a cream field with pops of earthy browns. The rug has some staining, and is priced accordingly.

Boteh motifs—often regarded as the precursor to the modern paisley—symbolize growth, fertility, and resilience. Their distinctive curved shape is variously interpreted as a seed, flame, leaf, or cypress tree, making them one of the most enduring and meaningful symbols in Persian weaving traditions.
