Heirloom® Premium 80/20 Fusible Cotton/Poly Blend Batting

Heirloom® Premium 80/20 Fusible Batting is a double-sided, iron-on batting made from the same trusted 80/20 blend as the classic Heirloom version: 80% natural cotton and 20% fine polyester, lightly bonded and needle-punched for strength and durability.

A water-soluble fusing medium is applied to both sides, allowing the quilt top and backing to be fused quickly and accurately with a dry iron. Once the finished project is washed, the fusing medium dissolves, leaving the batting as soft and supple as the non-fusible Heirloom® Premium 80/20.

This batting can be fused on one side or both sides, giving quilters and bag makers maximum flexibility in their workflow.

Use & Fusing Instructions (Summary)

Fuse using a dry iron only (no steam), set to the appropriate temperature for the fabric. Press—do not slide—the iron for 5–7 seconds per area, working from the center outward. Allow to cool before checking adhesion. Because the fusing medium is water-soluble, avoid moisture during fusing.

Quilters are encouraged to make test samples to familiarize themselves with fusing, stitch appearance, and laundering results.

Fabric Pairing

Recommended for use with medium to dark fabrics. When using light or white fabrics, testing is advised.
