Very scarce work published as part of the official works related to the ongoing Fulton Street Prayer Revival. From 1857 through really until the 1870's the "Noonday Prayer Meeting" at Fulton Street was instrumental in providing a model that led to local prayer revivals all over the country.

One of these was in the Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, OH, where young Scovell H. Haynes [1849-1860] attended. It is said the church experienced multiple seasons of refreshing.  Prior, the church was languishing and had almost no young families. By 1861, the church had grown to nearly 450 people, many of whom were new Christians, and a particular revival took place among the young. 

The story of young McCollum, a person of deep prayer at just 10 years old who learned to pray as a direct result of the Fulton Street meetings, became a foundational narrative for the Prayer Revival movement and was distributed at the Noonday Meetings. His story was circulated widely and told regularly at the Meetings as an inspiration to prayer. 

The work today is exceptionally rare; this is the first copy we have seen come to market in perhaps the last 10 years or so.

Good + in original cloth, some wear, lightly rubbed with slightest losses at extremities. Minor foxing generally with somewhat more significant instances toward the opening and closing sections. Very solid.
