Amy Winehouse performed in the early afternoon at the T in the Park festival in 2008.
I was the official photographer. She had just won 5 Grammy Awards but was too
fragile to perform later in the evening due to her alcohol consumption. When she
sang live, so perfectly and effortlessly, I simply couldn’t believe it. Her eyes seemed
to get lost in the crowd as she appeared to sing to the open sky above them. She
didn’t even use in-ear monitors; she just didn’t need them like other artists. She also
wrote the song “Tears Dry on Their Own,” a literary masterpiece in lyrics.
